For other destinations, the VIA streetcars (less than $5; fees subject to change without notice) stop 1 block from the hotel and offer convenient transport around downtown, and express service to SeaWorld and Fiesta Six Flags.

The Havana Riverwalk Inn has 27 guestrooms with down comforters and pillows, vintage-style duvets and fine cotton linens, high ceilings with fans, wood floors, louvered shutters, and antique lighting. Decorative features include European antiques, fresh flowers, reading chairs and desks, antique mirrors, artwork and photographs, and armoires housing 25-inch TVs with cable. White-tiled bathrooms have pedestal sinks, quality bath products, and plush towels. Some rooms have skylights over the beds, some have quaint seating areas, others have Mission- or Arts and Crafts-style furnishings. A complimentary New York Times is delivered to each room Monday–Friday.

Guests can dine alfresco under the inn’s shaded, tropical arbor overlooking the Riverwalk. On Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant offers a five-course, prix fixe dinner. Accommodates room service requests for breakfast. After dinner, guests can retire to Club Cohiba’s intimate Latin bar with cushy vintage furnishings and a collection of antique mirrors. Guests can sit back in the wicker- or leather club chairs with a fine cigar and sample Cuban appetizers and libations, all to the sounds of Latin music. Open late.

What to expect: The lobby of this three-story inn has the feel of a vintage parlor. Built in 1914 at the north end of the Riverwalk, the inn features European antiques, hardwood floors, old photographs and mirrors, leather reading chairs, original light fixtures, and rocking chairs on the tiled porch. The nonsmoking inn (except for the cigar bar) accepts only adult vacationers, and is a popular wedding spot. Amenity highlights: The Havana Inn offers culinary adventure in romantic settings. Club Cohiba’s restaurant serves specialties such as fried plantains with salsa and Cuban-style chicken Cordon Bleu. Guests can dine inside or alfresco under the inn’s shaded, tropical arbor overlooking the Riverwalk. Club Cohiba’s cigar bar is a Latin bar and tapas grill.
